What is Invisalign?

An Invisalign aligner is a clear, plastic device that fits perfectly over your teeth and helps to line them up correctly. It’s almost invisible and looks like a mouth guard or retainer. Invisalign is a popular brand of clear aligners that dentists and orthodontists often work with.

Invisalign aligners come in a series of custom-made trays, each one slightly different from the last. You wear each aligner for around two weeks while it puts pressure on your teeth to move them into place, before moving onto the next.

On average, Invisalign treatment takes 12-18 months to complete, but this varies depending on your specific needs.

What happens next?

STEP 01 – Meet with your dentist

Using a state-of-the-art iTero scanner, your Dentist will quickly and precisely create a detailed, 3D scan of your current smile and map out the custom treatment plan for your new one. So, you’ll know what exactly to expect at every step. Plus, you’ll even see a sneak peek of what your new smile could look like.

STEP 02 – Begin the transformation

When you pick up your first set of Invisalign clear aligners, your Dentist will check them to make sure that they fit correctly and are as comfortable as possible. Your Dentist will also schedule a series of regular, face-to-face check-ups to give you each new batch of aligners and monitor the progress of your new smile. As part of the process of shifting your teeth during your treatment, you’ll be swapping out your aligners often.

STEP 03 – Look after your new smile

Like all teeth straightening treatments, including braces, once you’re done with your Invisalign treatment, you’ll need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth straight.
