Sherin Hassanally

Practice Principal

Sherin is the Principal of our practice. She qualified from Guy’s Hospital (London) in 1988 and was awarded her fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1994. She has worked in general practice for over 20 years and spent four years in the Oral and Maxillofacial department of several hospitals. She has also previously owned two practices, one in Nottingham City Centre and the other in North Cheam, where she was also a vocational trainer to newly qualified dentists for nine years.

Sherin has a special interest in making dentures and treating nervous patients, believing a little TLC goes a long way! She enjoys creating strong relationships with all her patients, working with our talented, diverse team and learning something new every day.

When not treating patients, Sherin loves travelling, playing a little golf, gardening and keeping fit. She thoroughly enjoys her work but also likes having something to look forward to every weekend. If Sherin wasn’t a dentist, she would have liked to have worked in the perfume industry – concocting new fragrances.

Iryna Khraptso

Iryna graduated from Ternopil State Medical University, Ukraine in 2015 and completed her vocational training in 2018.

Iryna’s main interest lies in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, in particular teeth straightening using clear aligners. Iryna has a special interest in root canal treatment and started her MSc program with Simplyendo.

She always strives to achieve the best results and aims for long-term successful treatments for her patients.

In her spare time, Iryna enjoys spending time with her family, beekeeping and baking.

Hannah Taylor

Hannah qualified from Barts and The Royal London Hospital dental school in 2015. She has worked in a maxillofacial department in North Wales, gaining experience in oral surgery as well as working in A and E and assisting in theatre.

Whilst in North Wales, Hannah also worked in community dentistry, treating children, anxious patients, and those with complex medical histories. She developed skills during this time, which she enjoys using in general practice to make visiting the dentist a less daunting experience for anxious patients!

Having worked in general practice for the past 8 years she enjoys all aspects of dentistry particularly restorative treatment. Hannah is also an Invisalign provider and enjoys watching new smiles develop.

In her spare time, Hannah enjoys yoga, swimming and reading as well as spending time with family and friends.

Sara Baraka

Sara qualified from the University of Central Lancashire with a First-Class BDS (Hons) in 2015, having previously gained a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Medical Sciences from the University of Leeds. She completed her Dental Foundation Training in Ulverston, Cumbria.

Sara was awarded the prize for the best clinical case in the North West Deanery by the British Society of Advanced Dentistry, recognising a high standard of clinic work and patient care.

Sara has a Masters degree with distinction in Implantology, where she combines her interest in surgical and restorative dentistry.

Developing ongoing relationships with her patients, especially helping nervous patients regain their confidence in the dental chair. She offers a calm and gentle approach to her dentistry.

In her spare time, Sara loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys baking, going to the gym, salsa dancing and travelling.

Delma Lenderyou

Hygienist

Delma is our hygienist and has over 30 years’ experience in dental practice and teaching periodontology.

She loves working in a focused and caring team – all members of which pride themselves on getting to know the patients and providing the best possible treatment and care.

When not caring for teeth and gums, Delma loves walking, going to the theatre, visiting art galleries, cooking and football.

Erika Cartland

Hygienist & Therapist

Erika graduated from the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy with a BSc (Hons) in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. She is passionate about the principle that prevention is better than cure and is dedicated to educating patients on the importance of oral health. Erika stays current with the latest best practices in managing periodontal disease to provide the highest standard of care.

With a strong focus on patient-centered care, she works to ensure that all her patients feel comfortable and at ease throughout their treatment.

Outside of work, Erika enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, reading and walking her dog.

Abi Smith

Practice Manager and Dental Nurse

Abi joined Englands House in 2011! She is a Qualified Dental Nurse and our Practice Manager.

As well as nursing, Abi carries out a number of other roles in the practice, including working on reception, infection control and practice management.

She is particularly interested in anterior restorations, veneers, crowns and facial rejuvenation. She also enjoys patient care, working with our team and helping to make sure the practice runs smoothly.

Outside work, Abi loves spending time with her family, travelling to new destinations and interior design.

Carly Hurst

Carly has over 20 years’ experience in dental nursing and enjoys seeing the wide variety of patients who visit the practice. She is particularly interested in helping patients who are undergoing facial rejuvenation treatments, dental implants and orthodontics.

She has two children that keep her occupied, but when she does have some free time, she likes reading, having dinner with friends and going to the cinema.

Ruth Neave

Dental Nurse National Certificate in Dental Nursing GDC NO. 272883

Ruth qualified as a Dental nurse at Kings College in 1993. Ruth worked in Harley Street for 12 years before having her 3 children.

When Ruth returned to dentistry she was eager to get back into the daily challenges that dentistry provides and being a valued team member in our patient focussed practice.

Ruth assists our experienced dentists in all dental procedures, no challenge is too big. Ruth also helps to complete monthly decontamination and sterilisation duties.

In her spare time you can find Ruth walking her 2 labradoodles or jumping at the opportunity to catch any type of theatre performance. However, it may be the only time you catch her jumping!

Andréa Williams

Andrea qualified as a Dental nurse at Guys & Kings college dental school in 1998. She then worked as a dental nurse assisting an oral surgeon, helping with all aspects of general dentistry and implants.

Andrea helps to assist all dentists at Englands House and enjoys nursing alongside experienced dentists. The best part about the job for Andrea is seeing patients smile.

Andrea likes to meet new people from all walks of life and enjoys caring for patients. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, hair braiding and makes the time to home school 2 of her children.

Andrea Knibbs

Andrea’s background is in the creative industry working for the BBC and designing book covers for Penguin Books, before taking a career break to raise her two daughters. After having experienced her own orthodontic treatment in recent years, she found the process fascinating, and in 2016 it motivated her to retrain and gain her qualification as a Dental Nurse.

Andrea has a particular interest in orthodontics, aesthetic restoration and implants and enjoys engaging with patients and assisting our experienced dentists with all aspects of dental procedures.

In her spare time, Andrea enjoys working with a local interior designer providing room styling for clients, spending time with her grown up daughters and loves to get outside and enjoy the countryside and the wellbeing benefits of road cycling.

 

Sarah Munro

Sarah has been working as a dental nurse in Sydney, Australia since 2021, assisting with a wide variety of dental procedures in a family run practice.

Sarah’s Special interest is in Oral Surgery, restorative procedures and paediatric dentistry.

Sarah grew up in Bookham and loves the quiet village life, a welcome return after living in Australia for the last 7 years.

Libby Smith

Dental Receptionist

Libby joined our practice in 2018 from her background in veterinary.

She is particularly interested in patient care and the patient experience here at the practice. Learning the knowledge and new skills that come with dentistry, she is learning every day.

Libby enjoys walking, reading, holidays, campervanning with her hubby and spending time with her family especially her 3 granddaughters.

Wendy Buckman

Dental Receptionist

Wendy joined our practice in 2004 as a dental nurse and then took a career break to have her children re-joining us again in 2018. Wendy has been working in dentistry since 1988!

Wendy now works at reception and enjoys the interaction with patients, as she has a lot of dental experience she is more than happy giving advice to patients. She has a great rapport with patients that she has known for many years.

When Wendy isn’t busy looking after her 2 children and her cocker spaniel she enjoys walking, watercolour painting, photography and is a complete wildlife lover!
